Steve Lishman - Saxophone is a music educator and professional musician. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in performance from California State University, Los Angeles, and a master of arts degree in music education from California State University, Sacramento. Lishman studied saxophone with Joe Viola and Frank Chase, and clarinet with Fred Westphal. He also attended Berklee College of Music and Hartt College of Music.

Lishman began teaching music in 1970, and has taught music from the elementary to college levels. In addition, Lishman has been a performer, private instructor, adjudicator and clinician. Currently, Lishman is an adjunct professor in the jazz studies department at American River College. As a performer, Lishman has performed with the Jim Widner big band, The California Musical Theatre, Music Circus pit orchestras. He continues to freelance throughout Northern California and Nevada including performances with Lee Press-On & The Nails, The Crewcuts, and The New Chordettes.
